Microsoft clarifies Tiger compatibility for Office 2004
Posted on 13 Apr 2005 at 12:42
Microsoft's Mac Business Unit has clarified details of Tiger compatibility within its Office 2004 business software suite.
It said that OS X 10.4's new search technology, Spotlight, is already able to index Word, Excel and PowerPoint files. Spotlight will not, however, index Entourage, though the MacBU is working with Apple to correct this.
Support for other features, for example using iSync to sync Entourage, will be addressed by an Office update.
The MacBU will carry out final tests on Virtual PC 7 once Tiger is released at the end of this month.
