Amazon reveals an Apple Power Mac upgrade

Amazon has revealed details of an upgrade to Apple's Power Mac range.
The US incarnation of the online retailer is listing a dual 2.7GHz model complete with 512MB of RAM, a 250GB hard drive and a 16x SuperDrive. A price of $3,000 is quoted and then crossed out. The site notes that item has not yet been released.
The current top-of-the-range machine is the dual 2.5GHz with the same amount of RAM, a 160GB hard drive and an 8x SuperDrive. It sells for $2,999 (£1,999 in the UK).
Rumours of an imminent upgrade to the Power Mac line have been circulating for a while, not least because the last speed bump was almost a year ago. As Apple generally upgrades machines in approximately six month cycles, new iBooks are also on the cards, having last been updated in October.
