Apple takes revenge on John Wiley for Jobs biography
Posted on 26 Apr 2005 at 17:50
A leading publisher says that Apple has removed all its titles from the shelves of the Apple retail stores, in retaliation for the imminent publication of a biography of Steve Jobs.
John Wiley & Sons book, i'Con Steve Jobs: The Greatest Second Act in the History of Business' by Jeffrey S Young and William L Simon, is said to be an 'unflinching account' of the Apple CEO's career.
'It became increasingly clear that Apple was not happy with the publication of the book,' said Kitt Allan, publisher for Wiley's general-interest books. 'Recently, the meaning of that became clear when Apple told us that our technology books were immediately being pulled from their Apple retail stores. But, of course, Wiley stands behind our authors.'
Apple declined to comment.
