Apple's trademark lawyers get busy
Posted on 17 Jun 2005 at 11:15
Apple's trademark lawyers have been busy this week, registering several potential product names including Numbers, which could point to a future spreadsheet application to complement Pages and Keynote, its current productivity offerings.
Apple has also applied for trademarks for Mactel, iPod Socks and Jam Box - to cover 'audio production systems comprised of computer hardware and software for composing, recording, creating, converting, enhancing, processing, amplifying, mixing, manipulating, and playing audio signals'.
The last would presumably apply to the GarageBand-based hardware known for a while by its Asteroid codename. Leaked information about this product reported on several websites led to Apple's controversial legal action against the reporting journalists (or bloggers as Apple calls them) to try and discover the source of the leak.
