The Shopper office is pretty industrious, but we didn't realise how bustling it was until we tried these headphones.
The PXC 250s have closed drivers, so simply putting them on takes out some background chatter. Their active noise-cancelling (see our What's New Audio FAQ on page 38) replaced the hum of labouring PCs and London traffic with blissful near-silence. They worked superbly to hush the air-conditioner on a modern train, and even tamed the Tube enough for quiet acoustic music to sound great.
Sennheiser supplies a case and adaptors for aircraft sound systems and " sockets. The headphones are comfortable and lightweight, but require power from a couple of AAA batteries in a bulky case. This gripe aside, these are perfect headphones for travelling.
