Nildram signs up for 8Mbps ADSL
Posted on 24 Nov 2005 at 11:16
Nildram is the latest ISP to begin offering 8Mbps ADSL speeds, having signed up to BT's Max broadband trial.
All Nildram Broadband2gO, Broadband2gOLite and Broadband2 customers connected to the 25 exchanges that are participating in the first phase of the trial will automatically be upgraded from 1 December.
Customers connected to the further 39 exchanges that will be added to the trial in January will also get the faster speed as it becomes available.
'The introduction of these free 8Mbps trials are [sic] our first move into greater-than-2Mbps DSL speeds and marks the beginning of our aim to offer broadband up to 24Mbps through our own LLUs by next Spring,' said Nildram general manager Sean Stephenson. 'As more exchanges become enabled nationwide, we anticipate wider rollout for our customers.'
The ISP plans to begin offering ADSL2+ services up to 22Mbps next year.
