Microsoft terminates Internet Explorer for Macs
Posted on 20 Dec 2005 at 18:14
Microsoft is to cut adrift Internet Explorer for the Mac.
From the end of next month, the venerable browser will not be available for download, and support for existing installations will cease 31 December 2005.
Microsoft is recommending Apple's Safari as an alternative.
Internet Explorer for the Mac never made it to version 6 and beyond: now four years old for Windows. And with Apple users' legendary fealty to the Mac, the up-to-date Safari is almost certain to be the browser of choice on such a machine.
