A Japanese technology firm has moved to scotch reports that it is working with Apple to develop a mobile phone.
Softbank issued a statement yesterday denying a report by Japanese newspaper Nihon Keizai Shimbun, which said that the company's president Masayoshi Son had met with Apple CEO Steve Jobs and had agreed a partnership to begin work on the 'iPhone'.
The report claimed that the 3G phone would be released in Japan later this year.
Softbank's statement described the report as 'guesswork'.
