What could be better than VBScript for getting at the inner workings of Windows?

Author Stein Borge has compiled a collection of recipes using VBScript and the Windows Scripting Host (WSH). With Windows Admin, the key player is the Windows Management Interface (WMI), but here this takes a back seat to facilities provided by the VBScript runtime and WSH.

The examples here are long and the explanations can be difficult to follow. This isn't a problem if you just want to copy them and make slight modifications. But don't expect to understand all the techniques and be able to take them further. If you want a basic introduction to using VBScript then you'll find this book useful, but it could have been so much better.
