BPI begs Beckett to step up AllofMP3 pressure at G8 summit

The BPI has asked foreign secretary Margaret Beckett to put pressure on the Russian government to close down Allofmp3.com.
Beckett is attending the G8 Summit in St Petersburg, where the UK music industry body want her to raise the issue of Allofmp3.com with Russian president Vladimir Putin.
BPI chairman Peter Jamieson has asked the foreign secretary to 'urge the Russian government to take action against the operators of the site by insisting that it is removed from the Internet'.
The BPI insists that the site has no legal right to sell digital downloads, although the site claims it is licensed by Russian rights organisations. The dispute will soon be heard in to the UK High Court.
