Macs get external Blu-ray kit
Posted on 3 Aug 2006 at 11:51
An Asian computer peripherals manufacturer has introduced the first external Blu-ray drive for Macs, in Japan.
Logitec, not to be confused with the more familiar Logitech, has taken a Panasonic-built drive to provide playback and 2x burning of single-layer 25GB and double-layer 50GB discs. CD and DVD playback and burning are also supported.
Two models are supplied, one with a Firewire interface in addition to the USB 2.0 connection common to both.
Mac support is provided by the recently announced OEM version of Toast 7 Titanium.
The drives cost around £600.
