Microsoft fixes Office, updates Messenger
Posted on 11 Oct 2006 at 11:19
Microsoft has released security updates for both the 2004 and v.X versions of Office for Mac OS X. The company's Macintosh Business Unit has also updated Messenger for Mac.
The Microsoft Office 2004 for Mac 11.3.0 Update includes fixes for vulnerabilities that an attacker can use to overwrite the contents of a computer's memory with malicious code. This patch also includes all the previous Office 2004 updates.
Similar vulnerabilities are addressed by the Microsoft Office v. X for Mac 10.1.8 Update.
Messenger for Mac 6.0.1 fixes a problem that prevented some users from logging in.
More information on all three updates can be gleaned from the Macintosh Business Unit's mac mojo blog.
