Sams Teach Yourself Visual C# 2005 in 24 Hours review
This book has a copy of Visual C# Express Edition on a CD bound into it, which saves you having to download it.
The book can be considered a useful extra. James Foxall's comments make you think he has struggled along with the rest of us. His advice is helpful and the book is well written.
However, the content doesn't stray far from the obvious stuff. The author describes how to drag and drop controls on to a form and how to customise them. This might help the beginner get to grips with the initially complicated range of facilities, but there is much more to programming than what's covered here. It's a good start, and you might even finish the book in the 24 hours as the title suggests - but this will just be the first 24 of many.
Recommended for the total beginner who needs a well-written crash course on the basics.
