Course Technology Advanced 3D Game Programming All in One review

Verdict:

Review Date: 29 Nov 2006

Our Rating 2 stars out of 5

The title of Kenneth Finney's book is 'All in One', but the book is confined to discussing 3D graphics using the Torque game engine. This is included on the CD bound into the back of the book, but it's a 30-day trial version.

If you have decided that Torque is the best choice for you, you might feel you need a book such as this. Unfortunately, there are a number of problems with it. The most important is that it is full of errors. This is a worry for inexperienced programmers, but annoying for advanced readers too. At times the book is confusing and it certainly doesn't start from the most basic principles.

If you already know something about game programming and Torque in particular, you might get something from this book, but its errors are impossible to ignore.
