Our Rating
This huge card is based on Nvidia's new GTX 285 chipset.
It's similar to the GTX 280, but manufactured using a 55nm process. This reduces the amount of heat generated, meaning the card can run quicker - up from 602MHz to 648MHz. It's faster than a GTX 280, but not hugely, scoring around 10fps in Call of Duty 4. The card is powerful enough to run games at high resolutions.
It's slightly faster than the similarly priced Radeon HD 4870 X2 in Crysis, but a little slower in Call of Duty 4. The HD 4870 X2 currently costs around £40 more, and is a better buy if you want to output audio over HDMI, thanks to its built-in audio controller. If that doesn't interest you, then Asus's ENGTX285 is the better choice.
