Philips launches ActionFit sweat-proof headphones

Philips has announced a new stereo Bluetooth headset designed for the fitness crowd, offering high quality music playback in a sweat-proof design that can be washed clean.
The Philips ActionFit SHB6000/28 headset is designed to combine the functionality of a Bluetooth hands-free kit and stereo music playback headset in a single device. It has an integrated high-sensitivity dual microphone system with noise cancelling functionality and Philips' SwitchStream technology to quickly change between music and call modes.
Designed for fitness enthusiasts, the main selling point of the headphones is its claim to be completely sweat proof thanks to a special water resistant seal that keeps fluids away from the sensitive electronics. The same seal that prevents the headset from shorting out when you're working up a sweat in the gym also allows the headset to be washed under a running tap after your workout.
The company claims that the tight seal offered by the earbuds, which are supplied in three sizes to fit most ears, combined with its Angled Acoustic Pipe technology means a higher quality sound experience at lower volumes - resulting in improved battery life over competing models.
An adjustable earhook design keeps the headset stable when you're out jogging, and controls to adjust volume, accept or reject calls, and change the currently playing track are integrated onto the headset.
The Philips ActionFit SHB6000/28 has already launched in the US priced at $130 (around £80), but UK pricing has yet to be confirmed by the company.

FX-SPORT VBT still looks better
The trouble with bluetooth sweatproof is that your secondary unit which the headset is linked to is probably not sweatproof, neither is the adapter you may need to make the connection if not using a phone. Also outside the bluetooth link drastically reduces. I still prefer the version at www.fx-sport.net
The mp3 is built in so just one unit, fully waterproof and better navigation through music. Much better thought through.
