Tonino Lamborghini Quantum in-ear headphone range revealed

Antonio “Tonino” Lamborghini, son of legendary Italian car designer Ferruccio Lamborghini, is better known for his luxury Antares smartphones and accessory range than for Ferarri-beating super cars, but his latest venture wants to capture some of the feel of design classics like the Gallardo, Diablo and Miura; his company, Tonino Lamborghini, is launching a new range of in-ear headphones inspired by the Raging Bull logo. The Quantum in-ear range will be split into three models; the entry-level EL-01, mid-range ML-01 and top-end HL-01.

The Quantum EL-01 uses 10mm speaker drivers, recessed into enclosures decorated with the classic Raging Bull Logo, and has a one button remote control with built-in microphone which will work with both Android and iOS devices. It should retail for around £58.

The more expensive ML-01 will set you back around £82, and has apparently been tuned to deliver a “clean and detailed sound”, with “tight bass and particularly expressive vocal transmission”. It has a three button remote designed specifically for Apple devices, is finished in red rather than silver, and comes with a red cable.

Finally, the most expensive model in the range is the Quantum HL-01. It should cost around £124, and uses two speaker drivers to cover a wider frequency range than the rest of the range. It too has a three button Apple remote with integrated microphone, and is finished in black with red accents.

All three models use Thin Film Acoustic Technology (TFAT), a proprietary technology which apparently allows for “high-resolution sound tuning” to squeeze extra performance from small in-ear speaker drivers. They also include a metal clip to keep the cable pinned to your clothes, a hard shell carry case and several sizes of silicone and foam eartips to get the best fit for your ears.

“Excellent sound quality and premium design are the main characteristics for the whole Quantum line,” Tonino Lamborghini CEO Gianluca Filippi said of the new range. “Together these qualities speak to our exclusive design heritage, one that communicates the spirit of the ‘Raging Bull’ that adorns our crest”.

Tonino Lamborghini eventually plans to introduce an accompanying set of on-ear headphones to complete the range. In the meantime, the Quantum in-ear models will be launching in the UK, as well as Italy, USA, China, Russia, Japan, South Korea and UAE from the 1st of June. Selfridges and the Carphone Warehouse will be stocking them here in the UK.
