Our Rating
Saitek's A300 Stereo Headphones are a cross between earphones and headphones, and one of the most unusually designed sets here. They look like a pair of earphones attached to hooks that loop over the backs of the ears.
At first they were hard to position correctly. We'd have preferred it if the plastic ear-hooks were more flexible. The earpieces were well positioned for optimal audio quality, but felt too big for comfort. The standard cable is short, but two 70cm extension leads are included.
Music was clear and pleasant to listen to with a wide range of bass tones, but the bass overpowered higher notes on some tracks. This wasn't ideal for music but worked well with games and movies, especially during explosions.
Like most of Saitek's products, these earphones are designed with gaming in mind, but we found them uncomfortable to wear during long sessions. They could work well if you've got large ears, but this design definitely isn't for everyone.
