Yamaha launches Aventage receivers

Yamaha has announced a new line of home cinema receivers which it claims represent "a complete redesign" engineered for maximum sound quality.
The Yamaha Aventage series is designed to sit at the premium end of the market, comfortably above the company's existing RX-V line, and has had an overhaul which extends right from the internal components - each individually tested and refined, even to the point of testing different wire types and fuses for internal wiring - to the case design - which features a fifth foot for reduced vibration.
Tom Sumner, Yamaha's president, claims that "our engineers obsessed over ever last detail" of the Aventage series in order to "achieve the purest, best-sounding audio and the best video reproduction possible" - and Sumner's so sure of the quality, he's announced that the Aventage series will receive a 50 percent longer warranty than any other Yamaha receiver.
As well as 7.2 audio channels with support for Dolby TrueHD and DTS-HD Master audio formats, Yamaha has included a compressed music enhancement system, Bluetooth compatibility, HDMI 1.4a ports with 3D pass-through support, and integrated upscaling from the analogue inputs to the HDMI output in full 1080p.
The series also boasts networking functionality, including support for media streaming via DLNA as well as support for Internet radio stations.
US pricing starts at $649.95 (around £410) for the base RX-A700 model, which offers seven 90W channels, and rises to an impressive $1,899.95 (around £1,197) for the seven channel, 140W RX-A3000 flagship model. UK pricing and availability has not yet been confirmed.
