Fully 3D compatible AV amplifiers from Onkyo
Posted on 1 Apr 2010 at 12:22
Onkyo's new range of home cinema amplifiers will be fully compatible with the just announced HDMI 1.4a standard. This minor revision to HDMI 1,.4 includes a wider variety of 3D display standards, whose inclusion was delayed until the HDMI Licensing body had finalised the full list.
The details of the additional supported methods for 3D display are pretty technical and tedious, all you need to know is that if you have a HDMI 1.4a compatible source (Blu-ray player, games console or set top box), AV receiver and display, then you'll have no problems.
Onkyo are supporting the standard across their whole new range. At the bottom end of which is the surprisingly affordable TX-SR308. This AV receiver is available for only £250, but supports HD audio standards and has three HDMI inputs. We'll bring you a full review in the near future.
