Samsung launches three new Q series laptops
Posted on 6 Jul 2010 at 14:48
Samsung has introduced three new affordable Q Series thin and light laptops kitted out with Intel’s Core i3 and Core i5 processors.
The 13.3in Q330, 14in Q430 and 15.6in Q530 all sport fairly similar specifications. They include 16:9 aspect displays with 1,366 x 768 resolutions, Chiclet keyboards, large hard drive capacities of up to 640GB, as well as support for Bluetooth 3.0 and 802.11n wireless.
At just under 2kg, the Q330 fits into the ultra-portable category and even the Q530, the bulkiest model in the new range, weighs under 2.4kg and is only 33mm thick.
The Q330 can be configured with an Nvidia GeForce 310M graphics chip, while the Q430 and Q530 offer the more powerful Nvidia GeForce 330M graphics instead. All models come equipped with an HDMI port
As the new models are aimed primarily at budget-conscious users, there are some corners cut, but we’re eagerly looking forward to getting these into the labs. The Q320 was an excellent laptop and we expect the new Q series to be every bit as good – and hopefully better.
The new Q series will go on sale in the UK later this month. Prices will start at £599 inc VAT.
