Let’s hope all Windows 10 laptops look as good as this

Bang & Olufsen limited edition of the HP EliteBook Folio 1020

The Bang & Olufsen limited edition of the HP EliteBook Folio 1020 is a stunning new Windows 10 laptop

HP might not have its first Windows 10 laptops in the shops by the July 29 launch date, but if they all look as good as this we’re happy to wait. This is the Bang & Olufsen limited edition of the HP EliteBook Folio 1020, a refresh of HP’s flagship laptop.

The original version of the Folio 1020 owed much of its styling to the MacBook Air, with its aluminium casing, black keyboard and slender design. The 2015 version definitely cannot be accused of following Apple’s lead. The “ash silver” and “copper” design is perhaps a little ‘bling’ for some tastes, but it will definitely stand apart from the other laptops in Dixons.

HP hasn’t revealed much detail about the laptop. The current model has a 12.5in display that can be specified in either Full HD or Quad HD resolutions. Report suggest the laptop will also be amongst the first to ship with HP’s new Premium Keyboard, which “provides optimised, consistent key response based on user testing and feedback”.

HP’s also ensuring the Folio 1020 is capable of hearing your voice commands for Windows 10’s Cortana and is kitted out for Skype sessions, equipping the laptop with dual-array mics, noise-cancelling software and a HD webcam.

HP hasn’t released a price or release date, but says the Folio 1020 will be part of a range of Windows 10 devices that the company will ship between mid-August and October. That suggests PC manufacturers are struggling to meet the Windows 10 launch date of July 29, not least because Microsoft hasn’t yet sent manufacturers a completed version of the operating system to install on their machines, just a fortnight before launch.
