Lenovo follows suit and enters sub-notebook market

Lenovo has followed competitors' lead by introducing its own "netbooks" to the market; Lenovo's own ultra-portable laptops. The pair of small, slim notebooks are just powerful enough to carry out simple activities like surf the net, check and write emails, listen to music and run basic applications, claimed Lenovo.
Dubbed 'IdeaPads', the two netbooks will be priced at £279 for the 8.9in screen S9 and £319 for the 10.2in S10. They come in a range of colours including deep blue, pastel pink and ruby red.
"IdeaPad netbooks are the latest in a string of recently announced Lenovo products, designed specifically for consumers worldwide and developed through our heritage of technological innovation and exceptional engineering," said Liu Jun, senior vice president at Lenovo's consumer business group.
"As rapidly as the technology changes, today's consumers are looking for mobile products that feature the best of basic computing functions in an extremely compact and affordable form, and Lenovo designed the IdeaPad netbooks for that purpose."
