Nokia announces netbook

Nokia has announced that it too will start manufacturing netbooks, starting with the Booklet 3G.
As its name suggests, the Booklet will have an integrated 3G modem. GPS will also be built-in and can be used to determine your current location using the bundled Nokia Ovi Maps software.
Full specifications and pricing won't be announced until the Nokia World conference in Stuttgart on 2 September, but it is has been revealed that the Booklet 3G will have an Intel Atom processor, a 10in display and weigh 1.25kg.
The netbook market is increasingly crowded with countless but increasingly similar models from numerous manufacturers, so we'll be interested to see how the Booklet distinguishes itself from the competition.
The Booklet will almost certainly be sold with a 3G data contract from a mobile phone network and we wouldn't be surprised if Nokia decides to use a modified version of its own Symbian smartphone operating system for the Booklet instead of Windows.
We can't wait to get our hands on one so we'll bring you more details as soon as we can.
