Asus launch Disney Eee PC netbook

Asus has plumbed new depths, when it comes to the use of pink plastic on PC hardware, with the announcement of its Eee PC Disney MK90 netbook. It's apparently 'a dream come true for little Disney Princesses'. Although we think it looks a lot less exciting than being rescued from a dragon by a dashing mounted hero.
If your little princess is impressed by all things technical, though, then this might be the perfect Christmas gift. It's a small 8.9in netbook and at just over 1kg, it is well sized for the younger user.
It's also available in glossy blue, though we think that kind of defeats the whole point, and so you might as well go the whole hog and pick pink 'with a fairytale pattern - including Cinderella and Snow White'. There's even a Mickey Mouse shaped webcam inside.
The Desktop is also Disney-themed (with lots of wallpaper choices from favourite Disney movies) and features an easy to use icon interface for kids and a range of applications, puzzles and games. With a spill-proof keyboard and bump-proof hard drive the MK90 is reassuringly robust, and a host of parental control options help offer peace of mind.
It's going on sale for £299 inc VAT and, for a change, we can assure you that it's unlikely to merit a full review in the next issue of Shopper.
