Dell launches new thin and light Inspiron Z laptops
Posted on 26 Oct 2009 at 12:54
Following the introduction of the Inspiron 11z, Dell has launched two new thin-and-light laptops: the Inspiron 13z and 15z. In a bid to increase portability even further than merely being thin, the newcomers also have longer-lasting batteries to go with their Intel CULV processors.
The 13z measures just 26.4mm thin while the 15z is 29.2mm. These are the first new Dell products to come with Windows 7, and both have an HD, LED-backlit screen as standard (13.3in for the 13z and 15.6in for the 15z). Dell claims that each model can last over 10 hours by using either an eight-cell or nine-cell battery with the 13z and 15z respectively. Both batteries will recharge to 80 per cent capacity in just 60 minutes.
In terms of colours, there's a choice between Obisidan Black and Cherry Red. Both laptops are on sale now with the Inspiron 13z costing from £479 and the 15z available from £499 including VAT and shipping.
If you don't fancy compromising on performance, and would prefer a dual-core processor rather than a Core 2 Solo ultra-low-voltage chip, there's the option to choose a Core 2 Duo, plus up to 6GB of RAM.
