JooJoo slate gets FCC approval

The pre-iPad slate PC currently under development as the JooJoo has shaken off its chequered history and received FCC approval for sale in the United States.
The touch-screen slate PC - originally designed by technology blogger Michael Arrington under the name CrunchPad, but later taken to its final form by the OEM hired to build it and renamed the JooJoo - has passed through the offices of the FCC, who have provided breakdown pictures - and a sneak peek at the device's specifications.
As reported over on Wireless Goodness, the JooJoo will ship with Intel's Atom N270 processor at its heart and Nvidia's Ion graphics platform providing high-definition video playback and - to differentiate it from its rival the iPad - full support for Adobe's Flash.
As expected, the JooJoo will support both 802.11 WiFi networks and 3G mobile networks for Internet access on the go, which raises the possibility that its manufacturer - Fusion Garage - will be looking to sell it via mobile networks as a subsidised device.
If you're looking for more details, the FCC website has all the documentation associated with the approval process - including a copy of the device's user manual.
The JooJoo is expected to go on sale in the US on the 25th of March for $499 (around £330).
