Verdict:
Gateway's 8550GB has a long battery life, a fantastic screen and it's powerful enough to play the latest games.

The trackpad was large and responsive enough to be used easily and comfortably. It's a bit too close to the keyboard for comfort, though - we hit it now and then when we were going for the space bar.
The keyboard itself we liked. It's large, the layout is standard - right down to having a desktop style numberpad, and the keys have plenty of travel.
BUYING DECISIONS
The Gateway 8550GB is a beautiful notebook. It's not the lightest, so you shouldn't buy it if you want something you can carry around all day. But if you want a good all-round laptop that will run almost any software around today, then Gateway's 8550GB is the machine for you.
