Sandisk announce largest ever microSDHC card

Most smartphone models have a single microSDHC card slot for storage. Up till now, such cards have been limited to 16GB, plenty for internet browsing and email, but quickly filled with music, videos and photos. Sandisk today announced the first 32GB microSDHC cards, effectively doubling the potential storage capacity of most handsets.
With top-end iPhone models already having 32GB of memory, such cards a big breakthrough for Apple's competitors, like Google Android powered handsets such as the new HTC Legend. With an RRP of £150 the new card certainly isn't cheap, but as usual you can expect prices to fall rapidly.
Unlike with cameras, where it's simple to switch memory cards once you run out of space, smartphone users will rarely want to be juggling between two storage devices. So in this case it's unfair to simply compare the price of two 16GB cards against a single 32GB card. Still a 16GB card can be had for around £30, so it's still a major investment for your smartphone.
