9559X Bluetooth GPS receiver review

Verdict:

Review Date: 20 Dec 2006

Price when reviewed: inc. VAT

Reviewed By: Chris Finnamore

Our Rating 4 stars out of 5

If you've bought a GPS navigation program for your PDA or smartphone, you may still need a Bluetooth GPS receiver. Leadtek's 9559X is fairly chunky with an integrated SiRFstar III GPS chip.

A blue LED indicates a successful Bluetooth pairing with your mobile device, and a green one confirms a GPS lock. Pairing the receiver with our test PDA was easy. Finding a GPS signal from a cold start took around a minute, which is slightly slower than average. A car charger and a mains adaptor are included. If your satellite navigation software didn't come with a GPS receiver, you'll find that Leadtek's 9559X works well and is good value.
