Wi-Fi Phone for Skype review
This Belkin phone is nearly identical to the SMC Wi-Fi Phone for Skype, reviewed in What's New, Shopper January 2007.
Both connect directly to a wireless network and allow you to make and receive Skype calls. You'll need a PC only when you want to buy features such as SkypeOut calls.
Belkin's phone is simple to use. Call quality was roughly the same as you'd get from a mobile phone, but you have to be careful not to stray too far from your wireless router. If you're out and about, you can use The Cloud hotspots, but you can't connect to hotspots that require browser authentication. It's great for making Skype calls from home, but not ideal on the road.
