iPhone is top Flickr camera phone
Posted on 2 May 2008 at 09:38
The Phone has overtaken Nokia's N95 as the most popular camera phone on Flickr.
The photo sharing website's latest data is not 100% reliable, since phones do not tag images as reliably as fully fledged cameras, but they do indicate that hardware specification is secondary to usability.
The iPhone's camera has an oft-derided two megapixels, compared to the hefty five of the N95, and the Apple smartphone first went on sale six months after the Nokia. The N95 even has support for uploading images direct to Flickr.
Apple demonstrated with the iPhone's Safari web browser that getting the software right is key, with the iPhone quickly established as the most popular phone for browsing the web.
