Apple releases iPhone, touch update
Posted on 5 Aug 2008 at 08:45
Apple has released a software update for the iPhone and iPod touch. The update delivers the usual bug fixes, stability and reliability fixes that Apple deigns not to specify.
However anecdotal reports indicate that the whole UI is much more responsive, backups are quicker, and animation effects such as screen rotation are smoother.
The 2.0.1 update can be via the Check for Update button in iTunes, though make some time available as the installation process requires a full backup of the device. Some applications may subsequently also need updating.
