Posted on 19 Aug 2008 at 09:49
Apple has released updated software for the iPhone and iPod touch. iPhone OS 2.0.2 provides bug fixes is all that the company has to say about the update.
Anecdotal reports suggest that typing lag has been fixed and that the connectivity issues that could lead to dropped calls and inadvertent switching from 3G to EDGE have been addressed.
However Apple Discussions contains several accounts of problems following the update including applications that no longer work, lost contacts and more. In such cases a reset and restore of the device may be required.
iPhone/iPod touch 2.0.2 is available through iTunes’ update button.
