Apple says yes to Spotify

Apple has confounded the cynics who thought it might find an excuse not to allow Spotify onto the iPhone and iPod touch.
The company has confirmed that the Spotify app it has been approved and will appear on the iTunes App Store “very soon”.
Spotify was naturally delighted, with Global Business Development head Faisal Galaria going so far as to say that “it changes the game”.
For Spotify, perhaps. The iPhone app is said to require users to have a Spotify Premium account, costing £9.99. Persuading users to switch from the free, ad-supported music streams to the ad-free Premium is the biggest challenge the company must meet if it is ever to turn a profit.
Spotify founder Daniel Ek had only praise for Apple.
“We're happy but have had a great dialogue with Apple all the way. They've been great!”
