Nokia launches its flagship "Comes With Music" phone, the X6

Nokia has announced that its new flagship music phone, the X6, will be available from Friday, exclusively from Phones4U. As part of the Comes With Music range, it offers free access to over six million tracks from the Nokia Music Store, along with exclusive access to bonus tracks, remixes and videos from well-known artists.
The X6 is a Symbian-based phone with 32GB of internal storage. Nokia claims it can play music non-stop for 35 hours. Its 3.2in capacitive touchscreen has a resolution of 360x640, which gives it a widescreen 16:9 aspect ratio in landscape mode. It also has a full complement of smartphone technologies: accelerometer, WiFi, GPS, and 3G downloads at HSDPA speeds of 3.6Mbps. The camera has a 5-megapixel sensor and a Carl Zeiss lens. The X6 uses a customised version of Symbian, with social networking widgets prominent on the phone's home screen.
Nokia's music phones certainly appeal to music lovers, despite the aging Symbian interface. The company's previous flagship music phone, the 5800 Xpress Music, was one of 2009's best-selling phones, and the X6 seems a natural upgrade. It has the same resolution screen but an improved interface and better camera. However, the SIM-free price is much higher, and Symbian is becoming less and less appealing to those who've tried the iPhone or Android interfaces, as witnessed by Nokia's steadily falling market share.
The X6 will be free on a £35-per-month contract with Orange, or free on a £25-per-month contract if you trade-in an N-series handset. It's also available SIM-free from Nokia's online shop for £449.
