Carphone Warehouse pulls Sony Ericsson Satio from shelves

Carphone Warehouse and Phones4u have temporarily suspended sales of Sony Ericsson's high-end Satio phone, due to "buggy" software and a large volume of customer complaints.
"From time to time, we experience issues with new handsets and their software, which may result in a customer experience that is below our usually high standards," said the Carphone Warehouse in a statement.
"We want customers to have complete confidence and satisfaction in the handsets they buy from us, which is why we have temporarily withdrawn the Satio from sale."
Consumers have reported a myriad range of problems with the Symbian-based handset including the phone crashing, the interface and battery problems.
"Sony Ericsson confirms that it has been made aware that small number of consumers have experienced software issues with its Satio handset when using certain applications," Sony Ericsson said in a statement.
The news comes at a bad time for Sony Ericsson, which was hoping the Satio would revive its fortunes. It's also bad news for Symbian, which is looking increasingly dated compared to the more advanced Android and iPhone operating systems.
