Tesco to sell the iPhone before Christmas
Posted on 25 Nov 2009 at 12:07
Tesco has announced that it hopes to sell the iPhone "in time for Christmas", and could spark a price war that sees the price of the handset tumble.
The retail giant has yet to announce any tariffs yet, although a spokesperson hinted that its prices would be competitive for both pay-as-you-go and contract customers.
This could be good news for everyone who expected Orange to lower iPhone prices when it recently introduced the handset, but just price-matched O2's iPhone deals instead.
The move is also going to come as a surprise to other phone operators. Vodafone's not expected to start selling the phone until next year and both T-Mobile and 3 have yet to announce that they'll be stocking the phone.
