Mobile networks to fight over iPad deal
Posted on 10 Mar 2010 at 11:15
The battle for the iPad in the UK is about to begin. In the US, Apple chose AT&T as its launch partner; in the UK, company execs are coming over to meet representatives from O2, Vodafone and Orange.
Rumours have it, unlike the exclusive deal struck with O2 for the iPhone, that the iPad will not be offered to a single network alone, giving all three major players a stab at having it. That said, with even the slightest whiff of exclusivity about, O2, Vodafone and Orange will be whipping their cheque books out and preparing a full-on charm offensive on the Apple execs.
With the iPad launching in the US on 3rd of April, UK resellers and pricing should be announced soon.
