ViewSonic announces new LED monitors for gamers and PC enthusiasts
Posted on 7 Jan 2010 at 09:21
ViewSonic has announced five new additions to its range of PC monitors at CES. 2010 will see the introduction of a 24in and 27in panel. The two as yet unnamed displays will go on sale around March time and will be quickly followed by the 24in VX2450wm-LED, which will have LED backlighting "to give the high response times expected of the VX range with unprecedented colour depth and power savings".
All models will have a 1,920x1,080 resolution, but the VW2450-LED's backlight automatically detects the onscreen image and intelligently controls backlight brightness for blacker blacks, pure whites and more clearly defined greys. It will have integrated stereo speakers, SRS Premium Sound technology and DVI and VGA inputs. It will be available in April with an expected price of £349 including VAT.
The VA Range (ViewSonic's value range) will include a widescreen 22in model aimed at cost-conscious users who still need a high quality display. This is expected to be available from April or May.
You can expect to see the new V3D241wm-LED around the same time. It's a 3D LED 24in screen which will "take 3D gaming to the next level with unprecedented colour depth, contrast ratios and power savings".
Already available to buy is the VX1932wm-LED. This has a resolution of 1,440x900 and a power-saving LED backlight. It costs around £120 including VAT.
