AOC announces new 23in monitor
Posted on 8 Mar 2010 at 11:24
AOC – a monitor manufacturer we’ve seen few products from recently – has launched a 23in monitor, the 2330V+. Finished in piano black, it looks stylish enough, and has a Full HD resolution – 1,920x1,080.
Oddly for a brand new display, it has only VGA and DVI inputs, but no HDMI or DisplayPort. The DVI input is HDCP compatible, however. AOC claims a response time of 5ms and a "Dynamic Colour Boost function, which optimises colours, leaving skin tones looking more natural and blue skies more blue".
The dynamic contrast ratio is claimed to be 30,000:1, and the 2330V+ is brighter than many displays we’ve seen recently, with a quoted brightness of 300cd/m². It doesn’t have LED backlighting, but the traditional fluorescent lamps.
The stand is a basic affair with no height adjustment or rotation to portrait mode. No price has been announced, but when the monitor goes on sale in the second half of April, we expect it to cost around £150. We’ll bring you a full review as soon as we can.
