Nokia is launching a new "Comes With Music" package, which gives consumers a year of unlimited access to Nokia's entire Music Store catalogue. Customers can also keep all of their downloaded tracks when the year is over.
According to reports, the package is expected to go on sale next month and Nokia has signed deals with Universal, Sony BMG and Warner Music Group to offer their tracks on the service.
Nokia has also confirmed that the Carphone Warehouse will get exclusive rights for the unsubsidised Nokia 5310 XpressMusic "Comes with Music" edition sales in Britain. Nokia plans to roll out further details about its music service on 2nd October and announced that Carphone Warehouse would start taking pre-orders in Britain today. However, the company declined to specify when sales would start, nor did it offer any pricing information.
"Comes With Music is the most compelling digital music offer ever introduced to the UK. You get a fantastic Nokia device with unlimited access for a year to a huge catalog of music," said Simon Ainslie, Nokia's UK managing director, said. "We're thrilled to be working with Carphone Warehouse to bring Comes With Music to the UK."
Carphone Warehouse announced that the service bundled with Nokia's 5310 will be on its shelves in tiome for Christmas.
"We expect the Nokia 5310 Comes With Music to be the gift for Christmas and at the top of all shopping lists," said Andrew Harrison, CEO at Carphone Warehouse UK. "We know how much our customers love music and we hope to make music millionaires of people everywhere."
