Google's new music service
Posted on 29 Oct 2009 at 19:26
Google has launched a new music search service that allows you to search for and buy music.
Google's new music search isn't a fully fledged music store, like iTunes or Napster. When searching by the name of a song, the first result should be a link allowing you to listen to a preview of the song without leaving the search results page. Clicking on a link should allow you to purchase the track from Google's music partners, Lala.com or MySpace. Searching by artist name should give you a list of useful information, such as their most popular tracks.
The service is currently limited to the US, but user comments on the YouTube page containing the demonstration video suggest that at least some American web users are unable to access Google's new music search.
