The decision between the regular and the mini iPod models really does seem to come down to capacity. It isn't the price per gigabyte that matters in the end, it is whether you want more than 4GB or not. If you're looking for a high-capacity device to hold gigabytes worth of data as well as a huge music collection, then the iPod mini simply isn't for you. Otherwise, save the extra money and get the smaller model. After all, it will hold 80 CDs' worth of music without a problem.
Of course, the style issue is also important, and many buyers say they want a particular colour of iPod mini rather than the regular white model. The iPod mini is more clearly a fashion statement than before, with its choice of colours and ultra-compact design. Take a look, then make your choice.
