The AverMedia EZ Media Player might look like an ordinary six-in-one USB card reader, but it isn't. With audio and video outputs it can connect to your TV and enable you to view digital photos and play MP3s.

We just can't see why you'd want to. Most digital cameras plug into TVs and have a slideshow function. They have the added advantage of not needing a power supply.

The MP3 function is not very useful as you have to copy MP3 files to a memory card just to play them back through your TV.

The most disappointing thing about this product, though, is the price: it's more than twice the cost of a standard card reader.
