iTunes Match heads to the UK

Apple has quietly begun to roll out its iTunes Match service in the UK, although initial indications are that the system isn't quite ready for prime-time use.
iTunes Match, which takes a user's existing music collection and replicates it on Apple's cloud servers with high-quality copies and no need to upload originals, launched in the US quite some time ago but has thus far been conspicuous in it absence for UK users.
While no official announcement has yet appeared from Apple as to its arrival in the UK, The Next Web has noticed that UK iTunes users are now being given the option to sign up to the service, which costs £21.99 per year.
Those who have taken the leap, however, are reporting that the system isn't quite operational yet - mirroring a roll-out in Brazil earlier this week, where the sign-up page went live but the service itself took a couple of days to settle down for all users.
In addition to the UK sign-up page, Australia and France have also received localised versions of the service - suggesting that iTunes Match is finally rolling out across the board.
However, Apple will likely need to make an announcement soon, as comments made by users signing up to the service and finding it not quite operational yet suggest that patience is wearing thin.
