A powerful app that enables you to create quotes and invoices from your iPhone when you're away from the office.

Our Rating 4 stars out of 5

Omni Invoice has two main functions - the first is the creation of on-the-spot quotes that can be emailed to potential clients; the second is tahat when the job has been completed, you can use that same data for creating the invoice.

However, before you can start to create your quotes and invoices, you'll need to input data about your various products and services along with their unit costs. This is easy to do, although it can take a little time to work out what piece of information goes where, so it helps to make yourself familiar with the way the app works before you dive straight in.

Once that little bit of housekeeping is out of the way, it's time to get started. This is where this app's strengths shine through, because creating a quote takes mere seconds and a few taps of the screen.

First, add your client and their contact details - Omni Invoice integrates with your iPhone's Contacts, so you don't need to enter any new details. Then, to create a quote, simply click on the Quotes button and select your client using the plus button. You add your products and services, as well as how many. At the end, you're presented with a summary of the products and services in the quote, with the option of including tax, such as VAT, and a discount.

This quote can then be emailed by tapping the Envelope button, or you can go back a stage or two to make any adjustments. Just one tip: you need to click on the Save button at the end of each step before moving on to the next. Once a quote has been accepted by the client, Omni Invoice automatically moves that data into the invoice section, enabling you to create an invoice. You also have the option of creating an invoice from scratch, as it's essentially the same procedure for creating a quote, except you have the option of determining payment terms and an invoice date.

Omni Invoice is great app for freelancers, contractors and small businesses, or anyone who is away from their Mac for much of their working day. The only niggle we found was that setting it up was a little confusing.
