Sony announces updated P-series with GPS
Posted on 10 May 2010 at 11:09
The Sony P-series is still a rather unique device - a mini-netbook with a high resolution display that you can slip into a jacket pocket.
Sony has just announced an updated version, the VAIO P11S1E, which has numerous extra features. For starters there's built-in GPS and a digital compass, which should prove very useful with mapping applications. There's also built-in 3G for internet on the go.
The original P-series used a small trackball to control the cursor, but the new model adds a small touch pad to the right of the screen. Inputs can also be made via the new accelerometer - so you can flick through pages or turn the P-series round for a portrait view.
The new model will be on sale sometime in June, and we hope to bring you a full review shortly.
