Rapid Group bags centralised authorisation and administration tools

The Rapid Group has secured the UK contract to market and service Centrify's DirectControl software, which turns any Mac into a full Microsoft Active Directory client.

Active Directory provides central authentication and authorisation services for computers, allowing system administrators to to assign policies, deploy software, and apply critical updates to an organization.

DirectControl enables admins to secure Mac systems using the same authentication, authorisation and Group Policy services deployed for Windows PCs.

Garrett Doyle, managing director of the Rapid Group, said that DirectControl will enables Rapid's customers to increase their security, streamline their IT administration and centralise their control over Macs.

"Centrify DirectControl broadens the choices that our customers have as they deal with their authentication and access control," he said.

In addition to Macs, DirectControl can also add Active Directory support to number of other non-Windows systems, including Linux.
