If you upgrade your account, you can get Nabaztag to check your POP3 or IMAP email accounts and tailor the notification based on who sent the message. You can also be informed when your Google Talk friends come online; it would be good to see support for MSN and AOL instant messengers as well, though.
With all these services, the constant chatter can get a bit much. If you find that to be the case, you can turn off the Nabaztag's speaker. If you prefer, you can set your rabbit's sleeping times and have him wake you up by playing your favourite MP3 file. Furthermore, his ears can be removed and replaced with new ear packs. As they connect with magnets, it's an easy job to do.
Finally, you can marry your rabbit to another one anywhere in the world; when you move your rabbit's ears, its partner's ears move to the same position and vice versa.
When it works, this is a slick, cute novelty item. It didn't get on our nerves despite running constantly for a couple of weeks. The Nabaztag can easily have new features and services added to it through the web. That said, there are a few teething problems, and the manufacturers need to fully translate the web page into English and improve the site's speed. Even with these little problems and a slightly tricky wireless setup, we adored our Nabaztag, and it's sure to get better over time.
